Dr. Song specializes in dynamic metabolic modeling and metabolic network analysis. His past training in frontier areas of process systems engineering has provided a sustaining force in the pursuit of problems in biotechnology and biomedical science. He has developed powerful frameworks and computational algorithms for large-scale dynamic metabolic modeling, pathway analysis of genome-scale networks, and integration of high-throughput data. These developments have led to successful modeling of ...

I consider myself a "systems biologist", trained in a variety of different areas, but primarily interested in how organisms work as integrated, self-regulating systems. Trained in protein chemistry and cell biology, I have extensive experience in modeling biological systems as well as image analysis and other novel analytical technologies. Currently, my major focus is on integrating multiple types of 'omics data to provide insight into fundamental biological regulatory mechanisms.
